David T. Javersak, a 1963 graduate of Weir High School, teaches history at his college alma mater, West Liberty

Heroes in 1997 by the state of West Virginia for their contributions to the preservation of our state's heritage.
The University of Hawaii awarded him the M.A. in History in 1969, and West Virginia granted him the Ph.D. in 1977."
